DECONSTRUCTING THE GOOD STUFF

Organic cold pressed olive oil: Olive oil is commonly used in salve making because she has an excellent shelf life (doesn't go rancid easily). She is also highly nutritious and medicinal for the skin — as an antioxidant, she fights free radicals that age the skin, while her squalene and vitamins (A, D, K & E) moisturise, hydrate, renew and soothe.

Organic unrefined beeswax: Beeswax is a richly nourishing emollient and humectant for the skin, meaning that she moisturises and also draws moisture to the skin, creating a protective barrier to lock all the goodness in, while keeping environmental pollutants out (without clogging pores!). Rich in vitamin A, she helps to stimulate collagen production and cellular turnover (great for anti-ageing), and her anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiseptic properties make her a soother and smoother  when treating red, itchy and inflamed skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, psoraisis and acne, as well as wounds, bites and burns.

Myrrh essential oil: Mystical myrrh is astringent, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and more. A champion for wound healing and treating deeply cracked skin, we use Myrrh in our salve because she sweetly soothes, smooths, heals and rejuvenates.

Manuka essential oil: The oil of this bee-loving tree shares many medicinal benefits with Tea Tree Oil. Her triketones gift us antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antiviral properties, making her a powerful ally for protection and healing. Anti-allergenic properties means she will help relieve and calm allergic reactions that manifest in the skin, and as a cicatrisant and cytophylatic, she'll assist with reducing the appearance of scars and stimulate new cell growth when treating wounds and damaged skin.

Roman chamomile essential oil: Such a wonderfully versatile healer (inside and out). For skin however, delightful Roman chamomile is anti-inflammatory and has been shown to not only soothe skin abrasions, but accelerate healing too. This is helpful for an array of dermal issues from breakouts to rashes, and her soothing properties are helpful for calming sprains, arthritic pain and muscle aches too. 

 Organic dandelion flower: Research has shown that dandelion flowers and leaves help to protect skin against UVB damage that causes photo-ageing. She's high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that will help reduce the signs of ageing, improve skin hydration and reduce the ferocity of inflammatory skin conditions from acne to eczema.

 Organic calendula flower: So gentle in nature, yet so potent in her medicinal power! Antiseptic, antfifungal, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, Calendula is your skin's best friend no matter what complaint you are faced with. As a vulnerary, she will also assist with wound healing. From acne to psoraisis, eczema and sunburn Calendula will soothe, smooth and heal. Research has also shown Calendula to aid in collagen synthesis and improve hydration to keep skin as plump and youthful as possible.
